The success of the film Total Denial around the world at festivals and at University screenings, (Columbia University Law School, Seattle University, Seton Hall University, Oxford Brookes University and many others) and the huge interest in the landmark case Doe vs. UNOCAL, makes me believe that the entire material from the hearings should be edited into 3 additional films.
My camera has been the only one "miraculously" admitted at the Federal Court Hearings in Los Angeles and San Francisco. This exclusive material will show the public how this landmark case, that lasted for ten years, was brought to a Victory. For the first time in history the Alien Torts Claim Act (a law introduced in 1789 by the founding fathers of the American Constitution), was used as a tool to sue corporations for the human rights abuses they committed overseas. The way the human rights lawyers won their battle against the complex corporate system in the precedent setting case Doe vs. UNOCAL is a historic achievement.
These three additional films will be included in the DVD edition and will be an unique educational tool for Colleges and Universities. I believe they will be of great interest to a vast audience.
